Sinema Meets with Veterans in Casa Grande

Congresswoman visits Honoring / Hiring / Helping our Heroes of Pinal County, discusses expanding services to rural veterans

Casa Grande – Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09) met today with veterans and veterans’ advocates at Honoring / Hiring / Helping our Heroes of Pinal County (HOHP)’s Eagles Landing Veterans Center. The Congresswoman learned about the challenges HOHP faces when providing services to rural veterans and discussed her ongoing work to improve health care and employment and educational opportunities for veterans.

“Here in Arizona, we are committed to providing our veterans with the care and support that honors the sacrifices they’ve made for our country,”said Congresswoman Sinema. “We’re working with HOHP to build on their inspiring work with Pinal County veterans. Together, we can improve access to quality care, expand services, and give every veteran in Pinal County the respect and support he or she deserves.”

Honoring America’s commitment to our veterans is Sinema’s highest priority. The House recently passed the VA MISSION Act, a bill Sinema cosponsored, which helps veterans receive care when they don’t live near a VA facility or when the VA can’t provide them with timely or specialty medical care.

HOHP is a collaboration between veterans and veteran-serving organizations. HOHP serves the veterans of Pinal County at their Eagles Landing Veterans Center in Casa Grande and county-wide with the Veterans Mobile Outreach Center, “Eagle One”. At HOHP, veterans can get help with food assistance and clothing, access employment services through the Arizona Department of Economic Security, work with a Veterans Service Organization to apply for benefits, and meet with staff from the Tucson Veterans Center.
