Keeping Arizonans safe is one of our highest priorities. We must be prepared for changing security threats from around the world. Recently, I worked across the aisle to ensure the men and women of our military have the tools they need to keep us safe, cut off funding for terrorists before they can do harm, and help stop the proliferation of dangerous weapons. 

Arizona has a proud military tradition, and Luke Air Force Base plays a critical role in our national defense by training pilots to fly the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world, the F-35. I recently spent time at Luke AFB with base commanders, servicemembers, members of Congress, and Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson. We discussed working together to provide the tools they need to protect our country, and the importance of continuing Luke’s important national security mission.
 

Luke Air Force Base, its personnel, and its mission are essential to the safety of Arizona and the nation. I’m proud to have worked across the aisle to support millions more in funding for Luke’s critical role in ensuring our nation’s security.
