House Passes Sinema-Supported Legislation to Protect Medicare for Arizona Seniors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House of Representatives today passed the Protecting Seniors' Access to Medicare Act of 2017 (H.R. 849), bipartisan legislation co-sponsored by Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema to protect seniors from potential Medicare cuts and repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). Congresswoman Sinema released the following statement after the vote:

“Important healthcare decisions, like responsibly funding Medicare, require thoughtful, commonsense solutions that stand the test of time. Decisions should not be made by a board of unaccountable bureaucrats without input from members of Congress, the administration, or the American people. This bill is a bipartisan fix that protects Medicare for Arizona seniors and future generations.”
