Sinema Earns Bipartisan Policy Center’s Legislative Action Award for Accomplishments Working Across the Aisle

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema received the Bipartisan Policy Center’s inaugural Legislative Action Award for her accomplishments working across party lines.

“I ran for Congress because Washington is broken,” said Sinema.  “I work every day to break through the gridlock and partisanship to get things done for Arizona and our country. I am honored to earn the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Legislative Action Award. I pledge to double down on our bipartisan approach to solving problems for Arizona veterans, families, and businesses.”

“Since 2007, the Bipartisan Policy Center has worked to develop real solutions to America’s toughest policy challenges. As we celebrate our recent achievements, we are mindful that many of our nation’s key institutions are under great strain. Despite real divisions, there are some in Congress with the unique capacity to overcome differences and govern a diverse nation. Representative Sinema is a leader with strong convictions who knows how to bring people together. The Bipartisan Policy Center is pleased to honor Rep. Sinema’s legislative skill and ability to get things done," said BPC Senior Advisor John Richter.

The Legislative Action Award was awarded to four members of Congress – one Republican and one Democrat from both the House and Senate – who demonstrate skill and courage in approaching substantive legislative issues; provide a positive tenor to the legislative process; and offer a template for improving Congress through their example.
